by Graham Joseph Hill (Author)
Unshackled: Breaking Addiction's Chains Through God's Grace is a deeply personal and theologically rich book by Graham Joseph Hill that weaves together memoir, Christian spirituality, and practical guidance for recovery. Drawing from his own battle with alcohol addiction and depression, Hill offers a raw and redemptive narrative of how faith, community, and spiritual practices led him from despair to freedom. The book outlines a Christ-centered journey through eight transformative stages--from recognizing the need for help to embracing a life of purpose and community. Each chapter integrates biblical wisdom, recovery principles, and soul-searching reflection, inviting readers to encounter God's grace in the very places they feel most broken. With honesty and vulnerability, Hill explores addiction as not only a physical or psychological issue, but as a spiritual crisis rooted in disordered loves and unmet longings. Unshackled is a hopeful, compassionate guide for anyone seeking healing from addiction, a richer life in Christ, and the strength to walk one day at a time toward wholeness and joy.
