After escaping the horror of the Hungarian Revolution in 1956, Eva arrives in Toronto and looks up Norman Martin, a man she had met only once before. They marry and become very successful running their Martin Manufacturing family business and raising three children, Troy, Alexa and Jason. But when Sidney Urquart is hired by Norman to be the "fresh face" in the business, things go awry.

Sidney has one goal and that is to become part of this family, to belong. Through a drug-induced haze he uses deception, chilling anonymous flower deliveries, and bizarre organized crime connections to try to gain control of the company. When the elderly Norman and Eva realize it has gone too far, they are forced to make a decision - to die by assisted suicide - MAiD - at which time secret documents will be revealed that will bring peace to their family. Their children challenge this decision and when their parents go missing, things come to a head and they learn what for so many years has gone 'Unsaid.'
