by Leonard Hjalmarson (Author)
Tools for helping believers transition into missional practices have been absent or rare: until now. The Missional Church Fieldbook is a tool for use in groups to transition from inward to outward focus, and to work together to discover shared disciplines of mission and community. The Missional Church Fieldbook will require that you ... move from the life of a member to a missionary ... begin a journey to an unknown destination ... open your life deeply to at least three other people ... recognize that you are God's possession and inheritance ... reimagine your life within God's big story ... discover a messy spirituality ... get outside your comfort zone.
Author Biography
Len Hjalmarson lives with his wife, Betty, in sunny Kelowna, British Columbia, among the orchards and vineyards of the Okanagan Valley. Between 2007 and 2010, they helped plant a missional community among their city's urban poor, then spent two years leading a church in transition in southern Ontario. The co-author of Missional Spirituality (IVP, 2011), Len is a member of the Parish Collective and is excited about his personal journey of discovering an integrated spirituality of mission. His passions are leadership, spiritual formation and culture, leading contemplative retreats, and experimenting with bread recipes. Len is an adjunct professor at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Chicago, Tyndale Seminary in Toronto, and Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto. He holds a doctorate from the ACTS Seminary of Trinity Western University in Langley, B.C. He is currently working on his fourth book on a theology of place.
