Author Biography
MACKIE SHILSTONE is Director of Health and Fitness for the Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute, the Performance Enhancement Expert for the Ochsner Clinic Foundation, a special advisor to the U.S. Olympic Committee on Sports Nutrition, and a consultant to Major League Baseball. He has appeared on the Today show, Good Morning America, 20/20, 48 Hours, CNN, ESPN, and HBO. Shilstone has also been featured in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, USA Today, and Sports Illustrated. Mackie's Health Minute is heard by listeners in many states twice a day on WWL, the second-largest radio station in the United States, and his spot is televised weekly on the Morning Show in New Orleans. Shilstone owns five GNC franchises in Louisiana. His other books include Maximum Energy for Life and Lose Your Love Handles.
