The Dominican Nation, formed originally of Spanish, African and Taino natives centuries ago evolved into what is now a well defined culture with its own identity.Dominican Spanish dialect is one of the best expressions of the Dominican culture.In no other topic will Dominicans express their culture better than in their cuisine. Somehow hidden from the world only in the last few years have the world started discovering the amazing Dominican food.It is not all inclusive and it could not possibly be. The objective is to bring some light to those trying to discover Dominican cooking and to those Dominicans in search of their own roots. It is a project and as such, bound to evolve, grow and improve.
Author Biography
Arturo Féliz-Camilo was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He is a traditional cook who comes from one of the oldest traditional families in the land. He has been researching traditional Dominican cooking for over 2 decades. He currently manages two of the most popular Dominican Food blogs (El Fogoncito in Spanish and Dominican Heat in English) In 2012 he started his traditional recipes book collection with "Las recetas de Mamá Pura". ("Mama Pura's) recipes.
