She began her career at the \u003ci\u003eTaranaki Daily News\u003c\/i\u003e and has worked at Stuff, the \u003ci\u003eSunday Star-Times\u003c\/i\u003e and the \u003ci\u003eNew Zealand Herald\u003c\/i\u003e. She was awarded Best Investigation at the national media awards in 2014, Best Crime and Social Issues reporter in 2019, and Reporter of the Year in 2022. She has made two documentaries. She now works for RNZ.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eJames Hollings is an Associate Professor of journalism at Massey University in Wellington.
