At roads end, terminating at the rugged Northern coastline of Norway and the sea, Elin Svensson, and a blended group of German and Norwegian intelligentsia arrive at one of the most foreboding locations they have ever encountered. The dense darkness, penetrated only by truck lights, exposed a tiny portion of rocky soil before being blocked by a wall of heavy forestation.

Confused, Elin steps out of the truck and aggressively accuses Dr. Brandt of deceit.

"We were promised a safe rescue at the end of the war. Is this a joke? Have we been brought here to be eliminated in this God-forsaken place? Where are the rescue boats? I see none. The sea is a dangerous place, filled with rocks and cliffs, no one in their right mind would attempt a rescue here. We need an explanation."

"Elin, please calm yourself," Dr. Brandt pleaded. "I made a promise and I intend to honor that pledge. Be patient, and watch for the light!"
