by Dave Price (Author)
The Primitive Methodist movement was founded by Hugh Bourne (1772-1852) and William Clowes (1780-1851). The movement touched the lives of many thousands of working class men, women and children in the rapidly changing times of the Industrial Revolution. The Primitive Methodists were so-called because they wished to revert to the "early" or "primitive" Methodism of John Wesley. This book helps us learn from this significant movement that radically transformed individuals, families and communities.
Author Biography
Dave Price grew up in Stoke-on-Trent, England and later lived in Kidsgrove, near to Mow Cop, the birthplace of Primitive Methodism. He and his family moved to Melbourne, Australia in 1989, and it was on a return trip to England in 2007 that he rediscovered the story of Hugh Bourne, William Clowes and the Primitive Methodists. He is passionate about helping people become followers of Jesus Christ, and communicating this gospel to a new generation of young adults. He is married to Jill and they have four adult children and eleven grandchildren.
