Author Biography
C.S. Blue stands outside the normal conventions of poetry. He is a lyrical/performance poet. He reads and performs his poetry from a unique rhythmic perspective: at the crossroads of poetry and music. Steven does not have a formal education in writing. He is a poet of the common language. He has reached many with his heartfelt words and people say it is a pleasure to read inspired poetry that they can relate to and understand. His poetry has a relevancy and honest bearing that is grounded in the current world predicament. According to Steven . . . "My poems have poured out of me since I was a boy; mostly from inspiration . . . and from dreams." Steven is retired from a 27 year career in Stage Production in Hollwood, California. He grew up on the streets of the 1960s. Much of his writing is influenced by those sensibilities, when peace, love and brotherhood were normal, everyday topics of discourse. He has hosted readings and open mics in both California and Oregon. C.S. Blue now pursues his lifetime calling as a lyrical/performance poet in Eugene, Oregon, where he hosts many local poetry events, including the Eugene Public Library's Summer Reading Series Poetry Workshop and Poetry Showcase, as well as the Eugene Poetry Open Mic. He publishes other peoples' work, has four published books of his own and a blog on his website, www.wordsongs.com.
