A horrifying, life threatening crash in the USAC Sprint Car in Charlotte nearly took his life. With a strong commitment of his Faith in God, his love for Jesus, and the prayers from everyone, a miracle happens...his life was spared. Being devoted to The Lord through a very traumatic time, the young man Jimmy Weller and his family were able to recover and start back on the path of racing again. From go-carts to the NASCAR Xfinity series, this young man persevered, never giving up hope and following the call of The Lord.
Author Biography
Veronica "Ronnie" Weller was born and raised in Youngstown, OH. As a child she attended St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church and School before moving to Hubbard, OH when she was thirteen. She graduated from Hubbard High School in 1975 and now resides in Liberty Township, Ohio with her husband, Jim, and two sons, Jimmy and John, three dogs and one ferocious cat! For 11 years, she enjoyed teaching CCD for St. Bernadette's Church in Masury, Ohio. CCD, (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine). CCD was the religion class she taught to children who weren't in Catholic Schools where religion was a main subject. These classes brought them to a better understanding of the faith and helped them prepare and make their sacraments. The classes were held one night a week (or on Sunday's between Masses) during the school year. She has a passion for volunteering and helping people. Over the years she has spent time volunteering at the Northeast Ohio Adoption Services in Howland, Ohio for their two annual fund raising events and The Ronald McDonald House in Youngstown. She also supports The Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley in Youngstown, Ohio, and The Association of The Miraculous Medal in Perryville, MO, with her prayer requests and donations. When her and her family are not at a race track, she enjoys snow skiing and road trips across the country on the motorcycle with her husband and friends. Her love for Jesus and her family is what she cherishes most in life.
