by M. D. Brian P. Lahey (Author)
As spouses, parents, and children, we feel the strains of chaos and fear attempting to break down our most treasured bonds. Stress, tension, and anxiety flourish as relationships dissolve into competing individualism. With a sincere commitment to understanding, we can revive the love that is too often buried beneath the noise of everyday life. Of Mice and Children takes us on a journey of understanding ourselves, so that we may truly learn how to love one another.
Author Biography
Dr. Brian Lahey is a physician specializing in mental health. He sees patients of all ages. He is board certified as an adult psychiatrist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, as well as a child psychiatrist by the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. He is currently in private practice in Overland Park, Kansas. Born in South Bend, Indiana, and raised by a police officer and a social worker, he developed an interest in people from a young age. By the time he was 18, he was working with mentally ill individuals who were being supported within the community. For a decade thereafter he pursued the necessary education to be a psychiatrist while starting a family and continuing to work with mental health patients. After finishing his fellowship training at Kansas University Medical Center, he has sought to identify a framework to better understand mental health symptoms. He is currently focused on reducing the amount of anxiety that children are exposed to within the school system and community.
