This project is a critical paper partially fulfilling the requirements for a Masters of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Nonfiction and Fiction at Ashland University. It examines the works of beloved pioneer author Laura Ingalls Wilder, teasing out the elements of her stories that were Nonfiction, Memoir, or Fiction, and entering into a discussion about the impact using these various writing techniques had on her individual stories and her narrative arc as a whole.
Author Biography
Robynne Elizabeth Miller has authored numerous nonfiction books, articles, and essays, mostly relating to pioneer life or the Little House on the Prairie series. An experienced speaker, editor, and writing coach, Robynne also teaches at writers conferences and local writers workshops. She leads two writing/critique groups, volunteers with West Coast Christian Writers, and is the Director of Leadership for the Inspire Christian Writers board of directors. Robynne lives with her British husband and the youngest two of their four wonderful children in the snowy woods of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Northern California. When not writing, Robynne loves singing, felling trees, and making bacon from scratch.
