After his brother is murdered, Jacob Keaton wakes up with amnesia and is deemed a suspect of the crime. Before he's taken in by an overzealous detective Jacob sets out to regain his memory and uncover the truth behind his brother's death. As his dark past slowly unfolds and he tries to change his life through new found faith in the present, he must decide if he can have a real life with a girl who claims to truly understand him or if he must walk his path alone in order to protect the ones he cares about. What Jacob doesn't know is that he has just been targeted by a Russian bounty hunter, and his ongoing odyssey to avenge his brother is only the beginning to something much greater a threat than he could imagine. To face the malevolence in his wake he must become something more than a vigilante. He must become The Crimson Spirit.

Author Biography

J.C. Mendez was born on August 10th, 1994 in Metro Detroit. He was raised in two cities in Michigan, the first being his hometown of Ecorse and the second, Grosse Ile, a quaint island just south of downtown Detroit. Mendez begin writing at the age of five when his natural creativity was recognized by his mother very early on and quickly nurtured to help develop his raw talent. Mendez has enjoyed storytelling in many facets including songwriting, poetry, filmmaking, and much more since early childhood, always keeping focus on his life ambitions. Mendez is currently enrolled at Eastern Michigan University and pursuing a degree majoring in Film Production with a minor in Creative Writing. He has a very unique writing skill and strives to not only incorporate quality life skills with good morals and values in his writing, but draw from his own life experiences with a twist of fiction. Mendez is an excellent role model for his peers and has made it his agenda to refrain from using unnecessary secular story aspects or profanity throughout his writing career. His charisma shines through in his writing and makes for adventurous reading that seems to awaken all of one's emotions.
