by Ching H. Wu (Author)
The Low-Water High-Energy Diet utilizes the concept of low-water intake and high-energy output to achieve weight control. This is an unconventional, but effective weight loss plan developed from the law of mass conservation and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).From the perspective of mass conservation, it is the excess accumulation of water and fat (rather than calories) that leads to obesity. In TCM, the human body is a part of the universe (Human and Heaven are one); body weight is dictated by its interaction with its environment. The Low-Water High-Energy Diet uses the principle of weight balance and mass exchange to achieve proper weight loss. To lose weight, the mass (food and drink) taken in must be less than the mass (respiration, perspiration, urine, and stool) discharged. In addition to weight loss, the Low-Water High-Energy Diet may also help alleviate other medical conditions such as muscle and joint pain, flu, colds, asthma, diabetes, eczema, and depression.
