My kids came home from kindergarten so excited about the sight words they were learning at school. They quickly dove into their books, only to get frustrated that they could not read them on their own. That gave me an idea I decided to write them a few stories completely out of sight words so that they could read an entire book on their own and gain the confidence of reading without help. As I wrote, my kids read the stories. The look of pure joy and pride as they succeeded was all I ever could have hoped for
Author Biography
Wife; mother of twins; full-time community college math faculty; lover of Jesus, math, jewelry, and reading. Makyla Hays grew up in Sacramento, CA and currently lives in Tucson, AZ with her family. She has a full life, and is so proud and excited to finally fulfill her dreams of becoming an author.
