Author Biography
Tobore Ighofume Ovuorie is a multiple award-winning investigative journalist, who was born in the city of Lagos. In addition to being a writer of poetry, fiction and non-fiction, her interests include mental health, anti-human trafficking and girl-child/women rights advocacy. Her ethos that poverty must never be feminised and children/women are not families' Automated Teller Machines, inspired her to set up the Media Initiative Against Human trafficking and Women Rights Abuse (MIAHWRA). MIAHWRA seeks to create better awareness about human trafficking of children and women, across Nigeria. She published her first book, a collection of poems "Sorrows Of A Mother" at the age of 16. "I Am Not To Be Sold" is the first human trafficking anthology edited by her.
