He closely examines historical culture and conscience in nineteenth and twentieth century Romania, particularly concentrating on the impact of the national ideology on history. Lucian Boia is a prominent Romanian historian and professor at the Faculty of History at the University of Bucharest. He is widely recognized as one of Europe's finest contemporary historians and a leading voice in debunking historical myths about Romania.
