by Karen L. Northern (Author)
I was prompted to write again and not allow my thoughts to lie dormant in my mind, the Lord came quickly to persuade me through His Spirit, His people, and His Word to propel me into my next door. This was a door I previously closed through disobedience and allowed the busyness of life to be the reason for not opening it again. I had always been told that I could "turn a phrase" or that I had a "quick mind," but I know I walk through this open door only through His grace and mercy. His Spirit gave my mere words life to speak to others and ignite the fire in my soul. Every bit of doubt preventing my spirit from being shifted from its rightful and primary place was burned away. I am eternally grateful for the voice of God and His sanctifying sound that pierced through the clutter in my mind to give me the nudge I needed to express His Power in My Words!
Author Biography
Karen L. Northern is a single mother of 3 (2 grown-up sons & 1 daughter); divorced for over a decade. I have been a RN nurse since 1989. I graduated with my BSN from Rush College of Nursing. I had spent the bulk of my career in nursing education & curriculum development at the unit level then the department level. I enjoyed sharing both didactic & clinical knowledge to my students from Pediatrics to Gerontology. I began my Masters in 9/2005 completing it in 12/2007 but had to wait for the Winter graduation ceremony of 2008 to be conferred. My journey to the Lord was not easy. I initially grew up Baptist but due to familial influence spent 10 years studying with the Jehovah's Witnesses. I came to Christ after so desperately trying to run and hide from what I knew to be His truth; MY TRUTH!! I became a member of Rehoboth Apostolic Worship Center (formerly True Holiness Pentecostal Church) in March 2011. God will keep you in the midst of your greatest storm and speak to you; if you will just...listen.
