The novel resembles Thomas Mann's \"Felix Krull\" in that it features a rogue hero venturing out from his own nation into two very different worlds. The reader sees how life was lived on both sides of the Atlantic, an old world as debauched as that portrayed in \"Barry Lyndon,\" a new as fierce and untamed as in \"The Last of the Mohicans.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eAuthor Biography\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eMark Seinfelt is the author of several books. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the Pennsylvania State University, where he received the Henry Sams Memorial Award for his thesis and where he studied under critically acclaimed author and Lannan Lifetime Achievement Award winner Paul West and novelist and screenwriter Robert C.S. Downs. He also holds a Master of Fine Arts in writing from Washington University in St. Louis, where he worked with the noted fiction writer, philosopher, and essayist William H. Gass, who served as chairman of his dissertation committee. In February 2004, his study of famous author suicides \"Final Drafts\" was selected as an alternate selection of the Readers Subscription Book Club, and in 2010 his novel \"Henry Boulanger of Mushannon Town\" received a Pinnacle Book Achievement Award in the category of historical fiction by the North American Bookdealers Exchange [NABE]. The NABE Pinnacle Awards annually honor top genre books published by independent publishers in a wide variety of categories. No stranger to distinction, \"Henry Boulanger of Mushannon Town\" was also selected as a semi-finalist in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest in 2008.
