The idea of God as a husband is found in the Bible. In the Old Testament, the prophet Isaiah used this symbolism to describe God's feelings for His chosen people, Israel. Rest assured: He has the same feelings for you
For your Maker is your husband--the LORD Almighty is his name--the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth. --Isaiah 54:5
This verse refers to ancient Israel, but we can apply it to ourselves. He, indeed, is our Redeemer.
Because of grief, loneliness, fear, or self-doubt, divorced or widowed women find themselves searching for relief from the pain. They often look for another man to fill the gaping hole in their lives, instead of allowing themselves time to grieve and process their feelings.
God is the answer for all of us. He absorbs our grief. He is our Protector and Friend. We need to run straight to Him and find true relief, salvation, peace, and contentment. A man cannot do that for you. Only God can.
