Author Biography

Andrea Gates is a native of Graysville, Alabama, a small town outside of Birmingham where she lived with her grandparents. After the sudden death of her mom, at the age of six months, Andrea and her sister Sheree were taken in by their grandparents Andy and Ethel Speight. Growing up with not much materially Andrea developed a sense of gratefulness for all things and all people. Her grandparents instilled in her a love for God and His Word. Her grandparents were very active in church and required her and her sister to do the same. Andrea's extensive teasing, battle with depression, sexual abuse, and rejection caused her to develop a sincere passion for others who were hurting. Out of this passion God's Daughters was birthed. God's Daughters is a 501c3 non-profit organization that Andrea founded in 2011 after a couple of years of organizing successful women's conferences in her native city of Birmingham. God's Daughters host conferences, life classes, does community service projects, host back to school supply drives, and so much more. Andrea is an author, teacher, psalmist, and conference host. Her passion for people and ministry can be felt if the opportunity to hear her is afforded. Andrea is married to Anthony Gates Sr., and she is the mother of two sons, Christopher and Anthony Jr. Andrea is an ordained elder and serves in ministry at Love Fellowship Christian Center under the spiritual covering of Pastor Rodney and Telayo Standfield. Andrea is currently a resident of Birmingham, Al. where she resides with her family.
