She studied at the American School of Ballet in New York City, but a hip joint disease made a dance career impossible. \u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eJassel never lost her love for dance, which can be seen in her art. She attended the High School of Music and Art before earning her BFA in painting from Hunter College in New York City. She holds an MAT in art from the University of Chicago, and her work has been showcased in both US and Russian galleries. \u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eJassel lives in Bethesda, Maryland, with her husband.
