His most recent book is \u003cem\u003eFrom Empire to Europe: the Decline and Revival of British Industry\u003c\/em\u003e. Sir Geoffrey serves on the Board of Directors of the Laird Group Plc. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003eTOM KIRCHMAIER is Lecturer at the Institute of Management, London School of Economics and Political Science, UK, from where he also holds a PhD. His research interests include corporate governance, M\u0026amp;A and corporate restructuring. He teaches corporate governance and strategy to students and business executives, and publishes in this area both academically and in the business media like the \u003cem\u003eFinancial Times\u003c\/em\u003e and the \u003cem\u003eWall Street Journal Europe\u003c\/em\u003e.
