My life mission is to empower youth, \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eand what better way to do that than by providing a blueprint\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eso that they can better prepare themselves for life outside the\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eclassroom and off the playing field?\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAs you migrate through the survival notes, you will\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003enotice that I follow a pattern. I'm offering a piece of advice, \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003efollowed by an experience or incident to support that advice.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAlso included are music titles that were either playing in the\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ebackground or inspired me as I wrote Coach Chestnut's Urban\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSurvivor Notes. Music feeds and motivates me, and I hope it\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003edoes the same for you.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis manuscript does not pose all the questions one might\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eask, nor does it provide all the answers, but it sets the foundation.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis work is listed as volume one, which alludes to more to\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003efollow, such as workshops, life coaching services, and speaking\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eengagements. As mentioned before, empowering youth is\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003emy lifelong mission, and I'm committed to it. Furthermore, I\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eknow this work will last long after I'm gone. It's my legacy; the dash between the day I was born and the day I die. This book\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003edocuments the many times that I have fallen and gotten back up\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eeven more determined.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI believe this work will also serve as evidence that the\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003etime my parents and all those who invested in me was not\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ewasted. In many ways, I'm carrying the torch once held by my\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003egrandmother, Emma Jane Savage, who fostered hundreds of\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003echildren in the city of Buffalo, NY. My mother, Shirley D. Webb-\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHall, and godmother, Gertie Graham, were life-long social\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eworkers and consumer advocates. This work also challenges\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003emy own children to take the baton - to not just exist, but to be\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003epresent and give back to society no matter how unfair it may\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ebe at times.
