He has edited \u003ci\u003eDharmakirti's Thought and Its Impact on Indian and Tibetan Philosophy\u003c\/i\u003e (1999) and \u003ci\u003eThe Role of the Example\u003c\/i\u003e \u003ci\u003e(drstanta) in Classical Indian Logic\u003c\/i\u003e (co-edited with Ernst Steinkellner, 2004), and published \u003ci\u003eNagarjuna's Middle Way\u003c\/i\u003e (with Mark Siderits, 2013), \u003ci\u003eIndian Logic\u003c\/i\u003e (2021), a complete Japanese translation of the Gandavyuha-sutra (with Yuichi Kajiyama and others, 2021), and many articles. He is a recipient of the Japanese Association of Indian and Buddhist Studies Award (1977) and Nakamura Hajime Eastern Academic Award (2010). \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003eMark Siderits was trained in Asian and Western philosophy at the University of Hawaii and Yale University. He has taught both Asian and Western philosophy, for many years at Illinois State University, and most recently as Professor of philosophy at Seoul National University, from which he retired in 2012. He is the author or editor of five books and has published numerous articles on a wide variety of subjects in Indian Buddhist philosophy and comparative philosophy.
