She is an educational researcher and trainer whose work explores the value of performance, improvisation and play for learning, development and social change. Lobman received her doctorate in early childhood education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Tony Perone (editor) is a faculty member in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at the University of Washington Tacoma where he teaches courses in human development and life-span imaginative play. His research and teaching interests include the life-span presence, development, and benefits of imaginative play activity and the role of improvisational theater activities in formal learning environments, in teacher education and in community organizations.
