by Ki Russell (Author)
With her usual flair and unusual exploration of the psyche, Ki Russell creates both characters and modern legends or fairy tales with gripping poetry that can unsettle readers while leaving them spellbound.
Author Biography
Ki Russell teaches writing, literature, and creative writing at Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Oregon, where she resides with her husband Timothy and two children, Rook and Ashe. She also serves a cat Draco and a new border collie-blue heeler mix, Dooby Dooby Doo. This year, Ars Omnia will publish her experimental novel, THE WOLF AT THE DOOR, a modern fairy tale containing poetry. Medulla Publishing released her chapbook, HOW TO BECOME BABA YAGA in 2011. Ki researches fairy tales then butchers them for her own purposes. She steals time from grading to wrestle with words, converse with the cat, dance with the dog, and paint. She holds a Ph.D. in English literature (Creative Writing emphasis) from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and an M.A. in English (Creative Writing emphasis) from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She believes people should laugh more.
