It is woven around the facts of the unsolved 1976 murder of Garland County Deputy Sheriff Linda Edwards and the suspicious circumstances surrounding the dismissal of charges against her lover. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance and subsequent death remain shrouded in mystery still today. The stereotypical southern politics and small town intrigue are at the heart of this work of fiction as is the impregnable 'blue wall' as one of the Hot Springs Police lieutenants is charged with her death among rumors of their extramarital affair swirl. A group of retired HSPD officers' band together to right a wrong and lift the veil of secrecy that has tarnished their agency and their badges.
Author Biography
Stephen W. Brooks is a thirty-four year law enforcement veteran and attorney. Having served at the state, local, and federal levels his career has led him to such exotic locales as Thailand, Egypt, Ukraine, and Morocco. Stephen W. Brooks started his career with the Hot Springs Police Department before being assigned to the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy for 6 years prior to joining the U.S. Treasury Department as an antiterrorism specialist at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in southeast Georgia. Brooks, currently lives on St. Simons Island in Georgia and has 4 books in distribution through Amazon.
