"A Better Tomorrow" acknowledges the harm historically inflicted on a specific segment of society; harm that continues today. It's not about admitting fault-we all know the facts around the history of that harm, whether we admit it, or not-we need to find a pathway to healing. In lieu of a realistic pathway, "A Better Tomorrow" offers a fictionalized vision that allows the injured to be separated from the whole-much like an addict being removed from the environment that caused his harm, and sent to rehab, to heal-before being reintroduced into mainstream society; a full and made-whole soul. Hopefully, the vision starts a conversation...that moves the needle. As mentioned by news pundits and social activists across the nation, freedom ain't free; it requires constant work. Otherwise, this experiment in democracy, as outlined in the constitution, could be a failed experiment before you know it. Unfortunately, the country is falling headfirst into fascism, and no one seems to care; working under the premise that it's us against them when, in reality, it's us against the cliff we're racing towards.
