Born in Tokyo in 1960, Urasawa debuted with \u003ci\u003eBETA!!\u003c\/i\u003e in 1983 and hasn't stopped his impressive output since. Well-versed in a variety of genres, Urasawa's oeuvre encompasses a multitude of different subjects, such as a romantic comedy (\u003ci\u003eYawara! A Fashionable Judo Girl\u003c\/i\u003e), a suspenseful human drama about a former mercenary (\u003ci\u003ePineapple ARMY\u003c\/i\u003e; story by Kazuya Kudo), an intriguing detective series taking place around the world (\u003ci\u003eMaster Keaton\u003c\/i\u003e; story by Hokusei Katsushika, Takashi Nagasaki), a captivating psychological suspense story (\u003ci\u003eMonster\u003c\/i\u003e), a sci-fi adventure manga (\u003ci\u003e20th Century Boys\u003c\/i\u003e), and a modern reinterpretation of the work of the God of Manga, Osamu Tezuka (\u003ci\u003ePluto: Urasawa x Tezuka\u003c\/i\u003e; co-authored with Takashi Nagasaki, supervised by Macoto Tezka, and with the cooperation of Tezuka Productions).
