by Gregory M. Schroeder (Author)
After founding one of the fastest-growing churches in the country and travelling to four continents to meet with exceptional leaders, Gregory Schroeder began a decade of loss. Cancer took energy. Idealism withered while listening to a month of horror stories in Rwanda. The drive for success fueled burnout. Vocational rejection, abandonment and isolation ended community. A personal fall. Divorce. Nine eye surgeries. When hope is gone, how is a life restored? "In our longing for security we have put God in the box of predictable expectations. God does not live there. He may be faithful, but he is not predictable. Once my own box had been shattered by failures and truths that could not be contained, I looked again. These are the ten sermons I never preached." (From the Introduction) Ten Sermons I Never Preached is for people who were told everything is certain, and discovered it is not. It is for those who were told nothing is certain, and hope something is. After loss, it is possible to discover conviction and hope again.
