By focusing on works by urban writers Mariano Azuela (\u003ci\u003eLos de abajo\u003c\/i\u003e) and Mart?n Luis Guzm?n (\u003ci\u003eEl ?guila y la serpiente\u003c\/i\u003e), as well as works closer to the violent tradition of northern Mexican frontier life by Nellie Campobello (\u003ci\u003eCartucho\u003c\/i\u003e), Celia Herrera (\u003ci\u003eVilla ante la historia\u003c\/i\u003e), and Rafael F. Mu?oz (\u003ci\u003e V?monos con Pancho Villa!\u003c\/i\u003e), this book examines the alternative views of the revolution and of the \u003ci\u003evillistas\u003c\/i\u003e.
