by Joan a. Dobbie (Author)
It's the day after the original Woodstock and Ruth is in Boston, half tripping, half floating through the Boston Commons with her friend, Joby, when this totally adorable guy comes comes up out of nowhere. He sees her. She sees him. "Were you just at Woodstock?" he asks. And she says, "Yes."
Author Biography
Joan Thaler Dobbie sculpts, writes and teaches hatha yoga in Eugene Oregon. She has recently co-created the hatha yoga textbook THE MANY FACES OF HATHA YOGA, kendal/Hunt 2012-13 and co-edited the Poetry Anthology BEFORE THERE IS NOWHERE TO STAND, Palestine/Israel: Poets Respond to the Struggle, Lost Horse Press, 2012. Joan has two grown children and six rapidly growing grandchildren, all of them much too far away... And, yes, she did attend the original Woodstock and did live in the Boston/Cambridge area between 1969 and 1974. It is from her real life experiences that these poems emerged 15 years or so after she left, finally to find themselves in print 25 years after that!
