In 1992 and 1996 he received M.Tech in \u003ci\u003eComputer and Information Technology\u003c\/i\u003e and PhD in \u003ci\u003eComputer Science and Engineering\u003c\/i\u003e, respectively, both from the \u003ci\u003eIndian Institute of Technology\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eKharagpur\u003c\/i\u003e, India. He is currently a professor in the \u003ci\u003eElectronics and Electrical Communication Engineering\u003c\/i\u003e department, \u003ci\u003eIndian Institute of Technology\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eKharagpur\u003c\/i\u003e. His research interests include low-power digital circuit design and test, System-on-Chip testing, Network-on-Chip design and test, logic encryption. He has more than hundred publications in refereed international journals and conferences. He is a co-author of the book \u003ci\u003eAdditive Cellular Automata - Theory and Applications\u003c\/i\u003e published by the \u003ci\u003eIEEE Computer Society Press\u003c\/i\u003e. He has also co-authored the book titled \u003ci\u003eNetwork-on-Chip The Next Generation of System-on-Chip Integration\u003c\/i\u003e published by the \u003ci\u003eCRC Press\u003c\/i\u003e. He has written a number of text books, such as, \u003ci\u003eCompiler Design\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eSystem Software\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eEmbedded System Design\u003c\/i\u003e, all published by the \u003ci\u003ePHI Learning\u003c\/i\u003e, India.
