Author Biography
Brett Allen Bodway was born March 10, 1963 in Minneapolis, Minn., to Phillip and Mary (Johnson) Bodway. He spent much of his childhood in the McGregor, Minn., area where he graduated from McGregor High School in 1981. Brett attended community college in Brainerd, Minn., before transferring to Bemidji State University, Bemidji, Minn., where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in communications. Brett eventually settled in Fargo, N.D., where he spent his entire 24-year career working in television production at KVLY-TV (formerly KTHI-TV) and KXJB-TV. On July 19, 1997, Brett married the love of his life, Karen Duerre, in West Fargo, N.D. They made their home in Fargo, N.D. and on Sept. 28, 1999 were blessed with the birth of their son, Grant. Brett was a wonderful father and family was very important to him. Brett was an avid Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings fan. He enjoyed writing, coin collecting, photography, and researching his family tree. Brett lost his life to complications following surgery to remove a brain tumor on March 17, 2010; seven days after his 47th birthday. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Karen; son, Grant; his parents, Phillip and Mary Bodway, McGregor, Minn.; a sister, Lisa (Tony) Neururer, Grand Rapids, Minn.; a brother, Bart (Sheila) Bodway, Bloomington, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.
