ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Barbara Martin Stephens was the first and only female booking agent on Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee in the 1960’s. She was also the only female booking agent at the WWVA Jamboree in the 1960’s, and remained the booking agent until September 1966. Barbara's agency was promoted nightly over 50,000 watt Radio Station WWVA by Lee Moore. Her book, “Don’t Give Your Heart To A Rambler, My Life With Jimmy Martin, King of Bluegrass is published by the University of Illinois Press And is part of the American Music Series.
