She served as President of the American Composers Forum, Los Angeles from 2006-2014. She teaches in Low Residency MFA programs around the country and serves on the boards of A Room of Her Own Foundation and Poetry Society of America. Kate is the author six librettos including \u003ci\u003eRio de Sangre\u003c\/i\u003e, a libretto for an opera with composer Don Davis which premiered in October 2010 at the Florentine Opera in Milwaukee. Her latest poetry collections are \u003ci\u003eThe Goldilocks Zone\u003c\/i\u003e (University of New Mexico Press, 2014) and \u003ci\u003eEcho Light\u003c\/i\u003e (Red Mountain Press, 2014).
