Many of them fought for the French in May and June 1940 and when France collapsed, they found their way to England. They were re-trained and two fighter units were formed, Nos 310 and 312 Squadrons, respectively in July and August, seeing action during the last weeks of the Battle of Britain on Hurricanes.
