by Steve Krysko (Author)
Steve Krysko was a gunner, and later a tank commander, in the 712th Tank Battalion. From Normandy through Northern France, the Battle of the Bulge, the Siegfried Line, Central Germany and into Czechoslovakia, the 712th spent 11 months in combat, most of them with General George Patton's Third Army. From sometimes humorous incidents in training camp to the grim horrors of war, Krysko's story offers a very human glimpse of combat in a tank in World War II.
