by Kyla G. Ward (Author)
Many books on spiritual growth contain instruction, direction, and correction. This book attempts to offer an alternative approach to discipleship. Intended to cast a vision, let the words within wash over your soul and remind you of who you are when Jesus occupies the circle of greatest importance in your life. You are loved. You are the Christ-centered. Walking that out will surely move you from self-centered living to Christ-centered loving. "The Christ-centered will seek to serve one another by telling the story of God's love and redemption, care and leadership, and will shine as a beacon in whatever darkness persists. Those with Christ at their center will love in such a way that when others encounter it, they too are reminded of their desire to find their way home - to abide, to dwell in the house of the Lord forever." "Remember who we are called to be - the Christ-centered. Let us together, in a counter-cultural act of self-refusal, and in the admission that Jesus is Lord, choose to dwell, rest, and abide in Christ, bearing fruit that truly lasts - the fruit of love." Follow this pastor's wonderings as they provide a reminder of what it looks like to have Jesus in the center of your life. Take your reading a step further with the guided questions, suited well for either personal journaling or group study. Rev. Author Biography
Rev. Kyla Ward serves as Senior Associate Pastor at Victoria Alliance Church, Victoria, BC. With a background in vocal performance and worship arts, Kyla brings her creative and relational approach to her ministry and her writing. She is passionate about finding ways to encourage everyone, regardless of age, to take the next step in a journey of faith. Though she originally hails from Winnipeg, Kyla considers herself an Island girl, having lived in Victoria since she was just 2 years old. When she's not at the church enjoying her faith family, she can be found paddle boarding at Willows Beach on clear summer evenings, late-night baking in her kitchen, going to the movies with her husband Darren, and watching with wonder as their two teenagers grow into more and more interesting people everyday.
