He passed on his kingdom to his son, Meurig, in a state of peace, justice and prosperity, maintained by \u003cstrong\u003eKing Meurig \u003c\/strong\u003efor his reign of more than 30 years.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e \u003cstrong\u003eSt. Tewdric\u003c\/strong\u003e was the inspiration for an early opera, written and performed by students for the Priesthood at St. Omers seminary, some of whom were caught up in the fictitious claims, outright lies, and bloody injustices of '\u003cem\u003eThe Popish Plot\u003c\/em\u003e' of 1678-1680, a politically contrived attempt to topple King Charles II.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e \u003cstrong\u003eSt. Tewdric\u003c\/strong\u003e is part of the foundations of Wales.
