by Harold Neulieb (Illustrator), Paula McHugh (Author)
Contemporary poetry--following the haiku style-- inspired by the landscapes, history, people, flora and fauna of the Indiana Dunes. Visions of Pinhook Bog, Mount Baldy, Cowles Bog, singing sands, Diana of the Dunes, Dunes State Park and searching for crinoids and beach glass are among the subjects reflected in Paula McHugh's poetry.
Author Biography
A former writer for The Beacher in Michigan City, as well as a contributor to Chicago Wilderness and Lake magazines, Paula McHugh is intimately familiar with Northwest Indiana's dunes lakeshore: she spent summers in the 1950's at the base of her father's lifeguard stand at Indiana Dunes State Park. Illustrations by Harold Neulieb.
