Australian writer Kerry White has put together an anthology with a mix of poems and non-fiction prose celebrating his 70th birthday. Contents include a poetic story of his life, a take on Gray's Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard, family history, a tribute to fellow Vietnam War veterans, a look at his time in newspapers and his childhood and numerous other subjects. This book follows his first anthology, 'the poet from hell'.
Author Biography
Kerry White was born in Toowoomba, Australia, in 1945 and spent his childhood at nearby Mount Tyson. He worked in a bank in Toowoomba after finishing school. In 1966-67 he served in the Vietnam War as a national serviceman. In his late 20s he embarked upon a journalism career, starting with The Chronicle in Toowoomba and subsequently became a media/communications professional in both private and public sector positions. In 2006 he attained a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba. He is semi-retired and lives at the Sunshine Coast, Australia.
