Author Biography
Bill Loehr has been fly fishing for trout since 1954. He started swinging a wet fly for brook trout through small streams in Connecticut and moved on to do more of the same in Chile, Macedonia, Tajikistan, South Africa and a few other places where you would not expect trout to be. Bill splits his time between Durango, Colorado and Ojai, California. While living in Colorado, he spent considerable time backpacking, climbing and always fishing in the Rockies. Since the early nineties he has spent most of his summers fishing the rivers and many of the small creeks of southwestern Colorado. In winter he is in Ojai, making (and repairing) bamboo rods and tying flies. Bill is a graduate of the universities of Connecticut and Colorado. He taught international economics at the University of Denver for fourteen years (1971-85) and served as a Fulbright Professor at the University of Chile in Santiago (1979-80). He has worked as a consultant for international aid agencies in more than twenty countries. He is co-author of The Economics of Development and Distribution and Threat to Development as well as author of articles in journals dealing with economics and international relations.
