His book \u003ci\u003eVoyages - Canada's Heritage Rivers\u003c\/i\u003e, won the Natural Resources Council of America Award for Best Environment Book, and has written for many national magazines. He is an International Fellow of the prestigious Explorer's Club and the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. Wilson has travelled over 60,000 km by canoe and snowshoe, has been an Ontario park ranger, a New Zealand park warden and a wilderness skills teacher for Outward Bound.
