Simultaneously, Palfrey has spent a lifetime exploring the boundaries of image-making through photography, with his work as a doctor informing his practice. In addition to being a teacher, dean, and clinician, he served as president of the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and he has been a legislative advocate for child health programs and policies since the 1970s.
