Author Biography
Clyde W. Tombaugh discovered Pluto in February 1930 at Lowell Observatory, Flagstaff, Arizona, and holds the distinction of being the only man alive, and the only man in the twentieth century to have discovered a planet. Mr. Tombaugh has written many magazine articles and is a retired professor of Astronomy at New Mexico State University Research Center.
Patrick Moore is an author-astronomer with over sixty titles to his credit. Recent books include The Next Fifty Years in Space, The New Concise Atlas of the Universe, and Guide to Mars. Mr. Moore was director of the Armaugh Planetarium in Ireland from 1965 to 1968, is a member of the International Astronomical Union, the British Astronomical Association, and a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society. He holds and Honorary Doctorate of Science from Lancaster University in England.
