The enactment of the Act was a major achievement for Indian democracy. However, the real essence of the Act lies in its successful implementation of the Act. The book is based on a research study carried out in Rajasthan to look at the implementation of the Act. The book intends to answer some of the questions on the pro-poor policy in rural areas.
