Writing at a time when Stalin was tightening his grip on Soviet culture and society, Tynyanov implicitly brings together the disquieting experiences of the 1820s and the 1920s. Together with Christopher Rush she translated Tynyanov's novel \u003cem\u003ePushkin\u003c\/em\u003e (2007) and \u003cem\u003eThe Death of Vazir-Mukhtar\u003c\/em\u003e (Columbia UP, 2021).
