by D. A. Bale (Author)
Your favorite bartender is jetting off to Louisiana for the holidays! This time the mysterious shenanigans don't involve high heels and handsome hunks.
Try a gator, a grouchy granny, and a fortune in GOLD!Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and Vicki Bohanan is more than ready for whatever mysteries await. Between her confusing dating life and a never-ending home remodel, even a family vacation at the De'Laruse historic antebellum promises a better night's sleep. Fat chance in the land of Fat Tuesday when family secrets come to light. Gold was captured during the Civil War when the French ship aiding the Confederacy tried to run the Union blockade near Lake Pontchartrain. The De'Laruse matriarch enlists best friends Vicki and Janine to lay to rest long-held rumors of murder and mayhem tying the family name to those nefarious events. With only a week to decode the riddles left in a Union soldier's journal, it's gonna take more than Jacob Marley's ghost to help solve the mystery once and for all about what happened to the fleur-de-lis imprinted gold bars. The besties better get busy if they want to score a treasure. Before their goose gets cooked by a killer. Vicki and company head for the swamps in book three of the Bartender Babe Chronicles, the series that readers of Janet Evanovich are calling the Texas Stephanie Plum. Light among humorous mysteries and laugh-out-loud romantic comedies and long on-well as they say, everything's bigger in Texas.
Author Biography
Sometimes life emulates fiction. Life is filled with tragedy and Ms. Bale's writing reflects this reality. However, there is always a silver lining...even if one must spend their entire life searching for it. In her previous career, Ms. Bale traveled the United States as a Government Relations Liaison, working closely with Congressional offices and various government agencies. This experience afforded her a glimpse into the sometimes "not so pretty" reality of the political sphere. Much of this reality and various locations throughout her travels make it into her writing. She dreams of the day she can return to visit Alaska. Visit her blog - leave a comment or send a personal message at http: //dabalepublishing.blogspot.com
